How To Stop Feeling Overwhelmed as a Disciple Maker

Many Christians don’t feel equipped or qualified to make disciples. Why? Because we think about discipleship in ways that make it seem overwhelming to us and to those we are trying to help grow in Christ. In this session, you will learn about the two stumbling blocks that prevent you from embracing your calling as a disciple maker and the one mindset shift that will help you see you’re more qualified than you think.

Is Your Church Safe for Autistic People?

The church is meant to be a place where everyone is welcome and everyone is safe. But is that true for people with autism? Because there are so many misconceptions about what autism is, it may not be as safe as you think. But it can be. In this session, you’ll learn from a Christian with autism what autism is, the way autistic people experience the world and faith, and three ways to help us feel welcome and safe in your church.

Be Who You Are: The Hard and Soft Work of Discovering and Developing Your Voice as a Writer

Writers often talk about the importance of finding their voice as writers. But what does that even mean? While we might think that voice is a synonym for style, it’s actually something much more important. And in this message, you will learn what “voice” means, and the practical work of discovering and developing yours in order to be the writer you are meant to be.

"Why is there a T on that building?” and Other Questions About Christianity We Didn’t Know We Need to Answer

In their book, Made to Stick, Chip and Dan Heath warn against the curse of knowledge—of assuming our hearers have the same knowledge we do. As disciple makers, this is a dangerous assumption to make, especially as more and more people grow up without any kind of awareness of Christianity at all. In this message, you will learn why we can’t make the assumptions we once did, and how to navigate the messiness that comes with discipling new believers who didn’t grow up around the church.
